Active Shooter Seminar

Krav Maga Black Belts Barny Foland, Christian Ventrano, and Mark Hegland will take students through a detailed curriculum based on the methodology currently recommended by the Department of Homeland Security and numerous law enforcement agencies and experts: run/hide/fight. We’ll discuss a variety of documented incidents, preparation and emergency planning, and training for when there is no other option than to fight for your life.

The Krav Maga approach to gun defense and disarming attackers is efficient and effective, using simple, instinctive movements to rapidly build your survival skills.

About the instructors

Krav Maga Instructor Christian Ventrano - Teaching Krav Maga for Real Life

Krav Maga Black Belt Christian Ventrano

I started training in Krav Maga as a student in 2003 and started teaching as an Instructor in 2005. I received my Black Belt in 2009. My additional formal martial arts training includes Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu, Shorin Ryu Karate, and Ninjitsu. I became a Krav Maga Instructor because I really love the training philosophy and approach. I wanted the challenge of one of the toughest Instructor training programs, and to give back to the students, to challenge them to be better at Krav Maga knowing they can handle themselves in a fight, be able to protect those around, and make the right decisions to get home alive.

Krav Maga Challenge Instructor and KMSF Owner and Founder Barny Foland Improvised Weapons and Shields Seminar

Krav Maga Black Belt Barny Foland

“I’m a certified San Quan Dao – Chinese Boxing Black Belt and the Krav Maga San Francisco Head Instructor & Founder. In 1999 I was given the opportunity to train in Krav Maga and be certified as an instructor. I had been training in Chinese Boxing style for about 9 years and teaching for about a year. After my first day of Krav Maga training, I realized the difference between self defense and martial arts. Learning a system that works for everyone all the time, no matter how small the defender is and how big the attacker is, made me want to teach everyone.”
